Belgrade’s Big Hope Is Booze - by Colin Graham.

.' My mate Colin Graham -AKA Our Man In Belgrade - has written a great piece for the Belgrade Insight about the night life in the Serbian capital. His conclusion is 'beer is boss'.Can't argue with that, really.

Cormac Brown - Man About Town

Mr Cormac Brown, that well know raconteur, boulevardier and CHAP, has a particularly VIBRANT tale in Powder Burn Flash today. He also has "A Red Lipstick," in Astonishing Adventures Magazine Issue #5 and Retribution in Crooked Magazine #1. These are some of his best stories, I think. Tense, well paced and with a wit as dry as a nun's knickers. Cormac Writes, his splendid blog, will point you in the direction of his other stories, if you haven't stumbled across them yet.Sneak a peek here: Cormac Writes: "Vibrant" I doff my hat to Cormac Brown.

More News from Poland

The resident of a village near Warsaw was able to fit himself, two friends and a horse into a Fiat Uno car, it was reported this week. The ‘buxom’ horse, weighing 120 kilos, rode in the back seat of the car across half of Poland – from Warsaw to Olsztyn in the northeast. Police stopped the car near to their final destination, not due to its passenger load but because it had muffler problems, writes the daily tabloid Fakt. Satan has been spotted in a cemetary in western Poland. A frightened female resident explains that he has taken the form of a goat, has been aggressive towards visitors and has been desecrating people’s gravestones by eating the flowers. The explanation has been denied by a local farmer, though, who says the goat is his.

Applications are requested from candidates with five years management experience, a master’s degree, good computer literacy and a strong command of English. Maciej Dzwig, Poznan’s Director of Communal Services does, however, concede that, “Time will tell if I’ve set the bar too high.”

My Town Monday: Hartlepool

In 2002, Stuart Drummond campaigned for the office of Mayor of Hartlepool in the costume of the local football team's mascot, 'H'Angus the Monkey'. He narrowly won. His election slogan had been "free bananas for schoolchildren", a promise he was unable to keep. Despite this, he stood again three years later and won with a landslide victory.
